Hot on the heels of the reissue of that stunning debut long player YL Hooi returns here with an absolute knock out 12" featuring brand new music in the shape of Running Around (83) alongside a trio of remixes from a dream team selection of dubwise sonic explorers.
Continuing the winning production partnership with Tarquin Manek that proved so fruitful on that debut record Running Around (83) explores the same realm of dark dub informed post-punk but with the welcome addition of a club friendly deep dub techno groove that creates a darkly beautiful leftfield dancefloor destroyer.
In addition to the original cut we're also treated to a remix on the A-side from all round legend Mad Professor who works his Ariwa mixing magic to create a deadly percussion driven slo mo stepper. Then flip it over and Ulla takes on remix duties with a masterclass in dub minimalism stripping things right back for a beautifully dreamy beatless piano version before London dub wizard John T Gast summons the genius he displayed on that amazing recent collaborative record with Devon Rexi to deliver an insanely good rework that sounds like Protection-era Massive Attack put though the psychedelic dub blender, i.e. it's flipping amazing!
Served up on a limited handstamped white label 12".
