Very pleased to see this one get a repress. I remember very kindly being sent the initial tape version of it by the artist when it first came out (which I think was 5 or 6 years ago now) and it totally blew my mind. Managing to capture lots of elements that I love (dub, post-punk, dark ambient) but presenting them in a way I'd never heard before.
YL Hooi's ability to use her voice as both an instrument and as a narrative tool means some of the songs feel more like textures (such as opener "Title') while others (such as the stunning cover of the the Love Joy's Stranger) deliver compelling tales of bittersweet love and loss.
Still one of the best debut records I've heard.
