Ambient Dubwise 7" Selection

Last month I had the pleasure of playing at SINCE's wonderful Del Bosco festival and as well as playing on Friday night I also got the opportunity to play a second more chilled "wake up" set on Saturday morning. Due to the challenges of lugging vinyl around I thought I'd try to construct the second set entirely from 7"s (which weigh about a quarter of the eight of a 12" and can easily fit into your hand luggage). However this proved a bit more of a challenge than originally intended as I discovered there aren't actually that many ambient 7"s around (or at least I don't own many of them...).

However as is often the case with creative endeavours having some kind of limiting framework can actually be a good thing and after about an hour of rummaging around in my 45s boxes a pile of suitable records slowly began forming and like a jigsaw puzzle a set began to slowly take shape piece by piece. It also meant I got the chance to rediscover some records I'd long forgotten about such as the 7" of the beatless mix of Sabres Of Paradise's "Smokebelch II" which originally came as a bonus record with their Sabresonic album. To be honest finding that record alone justified the whole exercise.

Anyway when I got home I thought I'd record a quick mix with the rerecords before they disappeared back into the my vinyl filing system (or lack of it) possibly never to be seen agin for several years.

So here it is - the Ambient Dubwise 7" Selection.
