Woah big release incoming! Om Unit delivers his latest Acid Dub transmission in the shape of the third volume of his Acid Dub Versions series containing remixes of tracks selected from his legendary Acid Dub Studies records.
And this one is a monster! Fifteen tracks across three slabs of vinyl with remixes from the cream of the crop of electronic producers from across the world including an exemplary dub from my HOLY co-pilot Mr Richard Fearless himself. If you check the track listing below you'll recognise many of the remixers as regular Dubwise Vinyl favourites and this remix dream team results in a refreshingly varied selection of new cuts ranging from bass heavy dancefloor bangers to horizontal ambient chillers (and pretty much everything in between).
What I love about the Acid Dub project is that it's a simple concept that just keeps giving. As these remixes show there are an infinite number of ways that the acid dub concept can be interpreted (or reinterpreted) with the different artists here each delivering their own personal spin on the sound and the result is a treasure trove of exhilarating new variations each built in the true dub remix tradition.
