The T-shirts are an oversized fit so they come up a bit larger than a more standard T-shirt. If you want a more regular fit you may want to consider going down a size and if you want a super baggy oversized look (as is the favoured style these days) then you might even want to consider going up a size.
I'm a pretty average sized bloke (I'm 5' 10") and both the small, medium and large all fit me. The small gives a regular fit, the medium a relaxed fit and the large a super baggy fit.
