Always a treat when new music arrives from Italy's Ivan Antezza and here we have a split 7" that showcases the two sides of his musical persona.
A-sider "Flamboyant" is delivered under his Ivan Dubious alias and beautifully captures that distinctive atmospheric cold wave edged dub sound that caught my attention when I first heard his music a few years back. As with all Ivan's productions this is dub designed for the sound system packing some seriously heavy bass alongside tight militant drum patterns.
Flip it over and Ivan switches to his Wilbur moniker that many of you will recognise from those amazing Whisker Of Dub records he put out. Things get deeper and more psychedelic here on "Impassive" with some lovely spacey synths and a low slung post-punk bassline that creates a trippy laid back groove perfect for the more adventurous dancefloors.
