Dubwise Vinyl Dubplate Exclusive Very honoured and excited to be able to offer the very first release on Head Echo records out of Turin which showcases the talents of four artists from the city on a four track EP delivered as a very limited 12" polyvinyl lathe cut dubplate.
When I first heard these tracks what struck me was that they felt 100% right for Dubwise Vinyl. Expertly exploring the intersection between dub and electronic music in a range of tempos and styles from dancefloor focused cuts to more experimental downtempo jams.
Things kick off in fine style with Tango's dubwise UKG influenced banger "Wobbly Headz" which is complimented nicely on the A-side by Francesco Skip's wonderfully wonky slo mo wobbler "Reno." Then flip it over for some killer sub heavy driving dub techno from Sickarone in the shape of "Sabbie Mobili" before proceedings are brought to a close by Breez's beautifully fragile yet seriously weighty "You Only Move Twice."
It's been a long time since I'ver heard such a strong collection of tunes from artists that are totally new to me suggesting great things to come from fledgling label Head Echo.
