Dubwise Vinyl Dubplate Exclusive Earlier this year Krikor Kouchian put together a mix called "Dub Declaration" which was released as a physical tape via Berceuse Heroique. However this was no ordinary mixtape. Not only did it contain an exemplary selection of the finest roots and dub around but these tracks were also re-edited and reconfigured especially for the mix and the results were nothing short of mindblowing. The first time I listened to it I nearly fell off my chair it was so good.
Here we have an extremely limited dubplate which Krikor himself has very kindly cut exclusively for Dubwise Vinyl and shipped to me all the way from Japan where he currently resides. It contains two tunes from the mix neither of which needs any introduction as you will almost certainly recognise them but you will have never heard them like this before. Both are undisputed classics and both carry powerful political and social messages. What I love about these versions is they completely recontextualise the originals into a different sonic landscape which in the process actually seems to imbue them with even more power and impact which is a frankly an astounding achievement. Hats off to Krikor on this one!
Very limited run polyvinyl dubplates. Sorry about the price but they weren't cheap to produce or ship all the way from Japan. When you give them a listen I think you'll agree it was worth it though.
