For the 14th edition of their buy-on-sight Dubplate series Myticisms take a welcome and much needed delve into the musical output of Andrew Fitzgerald a.k.a. Atone, on this essential six track EP.
Originally hailing from Manchester Fitzgerald relocated to Sydney where we collaborated with fellow ex-pat dub adventurer Ali Omar (whose name you will recognise from that outstanding Hashish Hits record). Like Omar Fitzgerald's focus was on bridging the worlds of dub and dance music and as this fine record acts as the perfect showcase to illustrate the success of that approach.
Working accross a broad variety of styles from house, to trip hop to street soul that are all bound together with a strong dub sensibility and a love of a heavy dub bassline this is another great example of Mysticisms doing what they do best in shining a well deserved light on a previously unsung hero of pioneering the dub-dance alliance.
