Been a big fan of Alpine Sound's output ever since their first record appeared back in 2021. Bringing in influences from the broader electronic music spectrum they push the UK dub sound in some refreshing new directions and I think this latest 12" of theirs is possibly my favourite release so far.
Up top "Do The Cobra Dance" brings in some 303 acid squiggles alongside a playfully syncopated beat that gives a little nod to UKG for a characteristically unique take on the acid dub sound then flip it over for "Clouds Connect" which combines the spacey mystical atmospherics of dub techno and classic UK dub with a monstrous dubstep sized bassline. Both absolute killers.
