Toronto's exemplary Spiritual World label strikes gold again here with their first ever archival release from 80's dub experimentalists The Ullulators.
I got a bit obsessed with A-side cut "Simply Conscious Dub" after hearing it played out somewhere which sent me off on a dead end vinyl hunt only to discover it was a cassette only release dating back to 1985. In the end I managed to obtain it on wax by purchasing DJ Athome's excellent "Spaced Out!" comp (which incidentally also has loads of other interesting stuff on it). However thanks to Spiritual World you no longer have to deal with such trials and tribulations in order to own it on vinyl as on 19th September they will be releasing it on this very handy reissue 12".
It's backed on the flip with "Eternal Now" which is another previously cassette only release that provides a more celestial and kosmische influenced route to musical transcendence contrasting nicely with the heavy post-punk indebted dub rhythms of "Simple Conscious Dub."
Another great release from Spiritual World which leaves me wondering what other dubwise delights they'll be digging up for future archival releases.
