After the success of the exceptional "Connect Sequences" LP from earlier in the year Bristol Archive Records return with another showcase of gems from the back catalogue of home town heroes Smith & Mighty.
Concentrating on the similar period of mid 80's to early 90's many of these productions were released on Smith & Mighty's own Three Stripe Records back in the day but you'll be hard pushed to find many of them on vinyl nowadays (and even if you do you'll be unlikely to afford them....) making this a pretty damn essential collection.
Broadly divided into vocal cuts on the A-side and instrumental and dubs on the B-side there is an embarrassment of riches here from their heart breaking reworks of Bacharach classics in the shape of "Walk On" and "Anyone": to the tuff proto jungle of "Killa" to the peerless industrial edged electro-dub of "Brain Scan" which is a definite contender for one of my favourite tracks of all time and featured on the Bristol Tape mix I did a little while ago for Noods radio.
