Jeez this is good! Almost fell off my chair the first time I heard the opening track off this one.
That flute loop grabs you right from the start (reminding me of one of my deadliest white label secret weapons J-Sweet's "Road Angel") and then the whole thing just continues to unfurl beautifully just getting better and better and better - the drop of that heavy dub bassline, the gradual build of those atmospheric IDM synths, the expert use of negative space and restraint…
However it doesn’t stop there. In addition to opener "Brandy" you also get two more gems of next level psychedelic steppers in the shape of "Yarmouth" and "Cautious (Dub)."
A proper cracking record that really pushes dub in some refreshingly new directions. Hats off to Severin Black for the music and to Tokyo's Parallel Line label for pressing it up on vinyl and launching it into the world.
