Extraordinary and unique record from UK outfit Ozo that originally dates back to 1976 on a lovely sounding reissue 12" here from the consistency excellent Isle of Jura label.
Joining the. dots between dub, soul, funk and ambient it's a mesmerising dreamlike trip into the cosmos powered by African and nyabinghi drumming accompanied by Buddhist chants.
Apparently a big play back in the day at David Mancuso's loft parties it's a lovely record to set the tone if you're kicking off a DJ set or a mix and sits very nicely alongside other deep nyabinghi driven roots sounds from the likes of Count Ossie or Dadawah (whose epic "Peace And Love" I imagine was a major inspiration behind this record.)
