I have to confess I was not aware of this record at all until this reissue came onto my radar which is a bit surprising as it is very much up my street.
Originally released digitally in 2014 on Bill Laswell's M.O.D. Technologies it also got a limited vinyl pressing on the Personal Affair label who reissue it again here.
Joining the dots between the Japanese and US experimental dub scenes it has its own distinctive sound which feels a bit like a live instrumental rendition of classic Basic Channel dub techno. It has the same jazz informed fluidity and tight rhythmic structure as some of the other Japanese dub records I've stocked in the past by the likes of Pecker, Siva and Taikokissie but with the added trance inducing percussive power and atmospheric echo of dub techno.
In summary it's a pretty special record. Have a listen...
