Massive double header from the Crown Prince Of Reggae Mr Dennis Emmanuel Brown produced by Niney and delivered on a lovely sounding 12" courtesy of the Deep Roots label out of Berlin.
Two huge tunes here. Up top we have Dennis's 1975 rendition of repatriation anthem "Africa" (of which there are several versions, the original being the Gaylads on Studio One in the mid/late 60's I think). The vocal cut appeared previously on the "Just Dennis" LP but we're treated to the full extended version here that goes into a wicked dub that shows off of the full power of that Soul Syndicate rhythm.
Then flip it over for one of my all time favourite Dennis tunes. 1977's untouchable "Here I Come Again." An absolute banger that is again delivered in extended discomix format with the vocal heading into the dub. And what a dub it is! Driving bass, stepping drums and Dennis' vocals spinning around all over shop.
You'd be mad to miss this one!
