Dadawah's 1974 nyabinghi roots masterpiece. A definite desert island disc for me. A record I never tire of listening to and each time I put it on the turntable I get something new from it.
It was the main inspiration behind the "Percussive Dub & Roots" mix I put together and it's opening track "Run Come Rally" lies at the heart of that mix. The roll call of musicians involved goes someway to explain it's greatness (Ras Michael, Lloyd Charmers, Paul Williams, Willie Lindo, Lloyd Parks...) but there also some kind of inexplicable magic going on here which elevates it onto another level of psychedelic and spiritual magnitude.
Essential.
