"Heavy Load" sees Grant collaborate with Trinidad-born, Bristol-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Corysan who adds his deep rootical vocal prowess to Grant's bubbling dubwise digital rhythm. Delivered both as a vocal mix and as mystical instrumental melodica cut it provides a very welcome and unique sounding contemporary twist on the classic roots sound.
Then flip it over and you're in for a real treat... Nina Walsh (former studio partner of the late great Andrew Weatherall) delivers an outstanding remix which, with it's dubbed out beats and dreamy melodica, brings to mind Weatherall's own epic remix of St Etienne's Only Love Can Break Your Heart. It’s a real beauty.
