====================

Definitely one for my top 10 dub albums of all time. Bim Sherman's legendary Ghetto Dub finally gets a very welcome and long overdue reissue courtesy of the always on point Week-End Records out of Cologne.

Originally released in 1988 on iconic Bristol record shop Revolver's RDL imprint it's gone on to become somewhat of a holy grail amongst dub connoisseurs making OG's tough and expensive to locate (it took me a few years of patient waiting before I found one in decent condition at a (vaguely) reasonable price). However that isn't something you need worry about anymore thanks to this reissue.

With a mixture of rhythms recorded in both JA and UK and mixed by Tubby, Jammy and Adrian Sherwood the result is a pleasingly varied collection of dubs than range from the more traditional JA heavy roots sound to the more progressive experimental UK sound. Then you add in Bim's beautifully fragile vocals and the result is something very special indeed. No surprise really that it's gone on to become such a sort after cult classic.
