Tuff four tracker from London's Big Hands on Melbourne's Upstairs/Downstairs with a strong message and an equally strong sound.
Exploring the weighty waters that lie between techno and dub proceedings kick off on the A-side with deep atmospheric stepper "Battle of Cannae" which is followed by the percussive driven "Battle of Carrhae" that comes complete with a monstrous fog horn bassline reminiscent of Richie Hawtin's epic remix of La Funk Mob's "Motor Bass Get Phunked Up" (which is always good thing in my book).
Then flip it over and things head more into club territory on "Stolen Land" a collaboration with Melbourne's Pugilist before "Battle of Edessa" closes the set with pulsing drums and more characteristically booming bass.
