Warehouse Find A really very unique and beautiful record here from Akinsanya and Amlak 6 that dates back to 2013 when it appeared on the Junior Wize label out of Japan.
The vocal cut on the A-side mixes dub poetry alongside nyabinghi drumming and acoustic guitar to stunning effect creating a lovely uplifting 'last tune of the night' kind of vibe. The result feels a bit like an acoustic version of that amazing Creeping Tings Of The Earth record I had copies of a little while back.
Then flip it over and things get really interesting on the dub where it heads deeper into almost ambient territory complete with bird song, nature sounds and snippets of vocoder vocals that gently drift in and out of the mix. Amazing!
A stunning record that for whatever reasons seems to have slipped under the radar.
