Whether or not it was the first there is no disputing that it was by far the most creative and at that time pushed the dub production process to new heights establishing it as a standalone artform where the mixing desk engineer was the artist (which it could be argued marked the birth the modern day electronic producer). With the assistance of King Tubby and his mixing desk at 18 Dromilly Avenue Lee Perry crafted is own vision for the emerging genre which was typically unique, inspired and heavily psychedelic including snippets of sound effects and spoken word alongside the pioneering dubwise mixing techniques of echo and reverb.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat makes this particular reissue so important and different to other subsequent versions of this landmark record is that it matches the original 14 strong tracklist and, crucially, the ground breaking stereo recording technique which I believe was the very first example of stereo being used on any reggae record.
